RALPH NADER THROWS HIS SUPPORT BEHIND ROCKY ANDERSON
Portland, OR ... This afternoon the Progressive Party of Oregon announced that Rocky Anderson would be its nominee for the Presidency of the United States in the 2012 election.
In a joint news conference in Portland, long time activist and former Presidential Candidate Ralph Nader immediately threw his support behind Anderson.
At a joint news conference Nader said, “I am glad to see Rocky in this race and he has my total support.”
Anderson, the former two term Mayor of Salt Lake City, founder of the High Road for Human Rights and co-founder of the Justice USA said he was gratified by Nader’s support.
Ralph Nader has been a strong fighter for causes I believe in: Social Justice, Economic Justice, and Environmental Justice. While others have become complacent about the devastation to our rights and liberties in this country, Ralph has never backed down. I am honored to have his support.
Following the news conference there was a rally for Anderson at Portland State University where he spoke to an enthusiastic group. This evening he will officially accept the nomination from the Oregon Progressive Party.

Ben Shaw has a Masters in Government and taught government for 8 years in Texas, two years at Texas A &M and 6 years at San Antonio Community College. Ben was elected twice as Democratic County Chairman in Bexar County (1972-1976). He was also elected twice as Bexar County Tax Assessor -Collector (1977 -1982), but had to resign due to an undiagnosed illness which was finally resolved.
