Ben Shaw has a Masters in Government and taught government for 8 years in Texas, two years at Texas A &M and 6 years at San Antonio Community College. Ben was elected twice as Democratic County Chairman in Bexar County (1972-1976). He was also elected twice as Bexar County Tax Assessor -Collector (1977 -1982), but had to resign due to an undiagnosed illness which was finally resolved.
